Hey guys, how are you all? I am sure we are all struggling with the global pandemic that’s currently going on around us right now. It is a bit difficult to know what to do with blogging and social media but as a consumer, I want escapism and things to carry on as normal so while I can (I only have two sets of photos pre-shoot) I will carry on as normal.
If you haven’t heard of Lucy & Yak by now where have you been? Lucy & Yak are probably the biggest sustainable brand going not just sustainably made products their brand values are spot on. They really blew up towards the end up 2018 and I spent a long long time lusting after the brand. FOr Christmas Mike got me a pair of the classic black dungarees.
These ones are made from sustainable cotton rather than denim. I think in the past I’ve been put off dungarees on the high street because the denim is so thick there is no stretch and as we all know, comfort is my priority. That is not an issue the fit of these is so loose, the straps are entirely adjustable which is perfect. Now the best part, the pockets are humungous its amazing.
Styling them can be tricky but I’m glad I got plain black because pretty much any top will work underneath and with the adjustable straps if you want a big jumper underneath you can, I’m not massively into loungewear, joggers no thanks but these have slowly become my kind of loungewear.
I am planning to film a styling video on my IGTV but my favourite way is either a tight long sleeve top like this or a mesh bodysuit for something a little more special with a printed belt to clash some prints. Accessorise will make these dungarees go from loungewear so something a bit more special and for the rest of the time they are the best alternative to jeans with trainers and a hoodie.
Lucy & Yak are based around Brighton and make a lot more than dungarees now (although I’m resisting the urge to get a denim or cord version) they make really cool fleeces and hoodies made from recycled plastic and really nice backpacks. They were one of the first brands for me to make sustainable clothes less coastal walking wear and more fashion.
