Cornish Gift Guide

November 2, 2020

Hey guys, we are coming closer to Christmas and this year will be very different but its time for my Cornish gift guide. I have always been a huge advocate of shopping small. This year as you will know it is more imporant than ever. It has been a really hard year for everyone, all businesses not just small however as we go into a second lockdown it will be so easy to turn to Amazon. Hopefully this little guide will give you some much needed gift inspiration with enough time to make sure everything arrives in time.

cornish gift guide, cornish fashion, christmas gift guide, cornish gifts for her,

There are a lot of gift guides out there and primarily as a fashion blog I’ve tried to focus on fashion and beauty gifts, plus its more fun shopping for girls anyway right?

Fashion

Cardi G

First up is Card G, Coastal knitwear, handmade in Rock, Cornwall. Luxury knitwear makes the most beautiful Christmas gift, an investment for special someone. All of their products are made out of pure Merino Wool, to guarantee the cosiest jumpers and cardigans all year round. You can make custom orders too to choose the colour, length or buttons for a cardigan too.

Soleil Store

Soleli store is a bit of a dream for me. A female led hand desgined slow fashion brnad with a vintage led style, the desgins host a nod to the 70s and are right up my street.

Accessories and Jewellery

Pink Lemons

You may remember Pink Lemons from this blog post in the Spring. An online boutique with shops in Fowey and Padstow. The brand started from a love of Cornish lifestyle and Indian fashion upcycling recycled Saris into beautiful prairie dresses. The site is full of dresses, knitwear, hair accessories and so much perfect little stocking fillers such as the range of bags and pouches. I personally can’t have enough pouches whether it’s for keeping my bag organised, a small one for holding my face masks or as a makeup bag.

Until Dawn

Until Dawn is an eclectic yet curated collection of sustainable clothing and accessories – the aim of Until Down is to make you feel like a bohemian goddess who can dance until dawn, and beyond. Vintage, handmade and ethically sourced jackets, hats, jewellery and accessories stocking filer galore) made for free-spirited, moon-gazing, all-night dancing rock n roll disco queens.

Stephaine Steves Jewellery

Stephanie’s new collection, Semple means Simple It’s in the name, the inspiration behind this collection was to design something simple and elegant. This collection is full of geometric shapes and is simply, beautiful,

Handmade jewellery is one thing we do so well here in Cornwall and there are so many brands to mention so here are a few others worth noting. Twisted Anchor by Cody has plenty of handmade jewellery that’s inspired by astrology, a range featuring lightning bolts is on the top of my wishlist this year. Treaty Jewellery is about ethically made silver jewellery with an edge, statement earrings, rings and necklaces that are just so cool. Finally what Cornish gift guide wouldn’t be complete without some sea glass. Seaglass is beautiful especially for those friends who don’t live in Cornwall and want a reminder of the time at the beach. Rosenwyn Silver handmakes beautiful sea glass jewellery with sterling silver.

Home, beauty and Stationary

St.Eval Candles

Inspired by snowy landscapes and the magic of the season, St. Eval’s brand new White Christmas Collection is home to three comforting festive fragrances: spicy Inspiritus, zesty Orange & Cinnamon and herbal Winter Thyme, displayed in pretty white pots with an elegant soft gold finish.

Each candle is hand-poured with our unique blends for premium quality. Made using sustainable production on the farm in North Cornwall.

Bloomtown

Cornish gift guide, Cornwall gifts, Sustainable beauty

Bloomtown is a completely ethical beauty brand, everything is made in Cornwall and is completely palm oil-free. You can find all the beauty gifts youd want from essential ooil gift sets, bath salt, candles or skincare gifts such as cleasing bars.

Hometown Journals

Cornish gifts, christmas gift guide,

HOMETOWN is a creative journal by Hannah Bevan (based in Falmouth) and is designed to help you see and experience where you live in a bright new way. It’s filled with creative exercises to inspire mini adventures, mindfulness, connections with nature, sustainable living and community spirit. An especially thoughtful gift for someone who’s recently moved somewhere new!

Spilled Ink Stationary

Cornish gifts, christmas gift guide,

Spilled Ink Stationery was founded by Ellie Warren in 2020. The business bloomed from Ellie’s own love for all things stationery, as well as her deep connection to home, nestled within the deepest depths of West Cornwall. Ellie is passionate about championing local artists from Cornwall so each piece in the collection features an iconic cornish landmark such as St.michalels mount illustrated by a different local artist. The perfect gift and the perfect pairing of stationary and cornish art.

Pippy and Co

Pippy & Co. is a small mum run business. A collection of toys and gifts from value-led brands who care for quality over quantity, where every toy is made with as much love as possible and can stand the test of time. Something a bit new for me as its been years since I’ve had little ones to buy for but PippyCo is amazing or sustainable, plastic-free toys and stocking fillers for the younger family member

Whistlefish

When I first think of Cornish gifts I think hampers full of local food and drink or seaside art like the famous prints from Whistlefish so now we can get the best of both presents with their new hamper range. The collection includes a mix of their quality cards and gifts featuring their gorgeous artwork, alongside specially selected products from some of their favourite West Country producers. You can customise each hamper and they will add handwritten personalised notes so its such a fab idea for a gift.

Food and Drink

St.Mawes Gin

Cornish gifts, christmas gift guide, cornish gin

A fail-safe present that’s a good go-to for most family members is alcohol and what’s more special than a local gin, they wouldn’t be able to get on their normal weekly shop. Distilled with handpicked St. Mawes rosemary, this classic small batch dry gin combines delicate citrus and botanical flavours that are inspired by the Roseland Peninsula’s fresh sea breeze.

Kernow Chocolate

Cornish gifts, christmas gift guide, cornish gift guide,

Situated on Cornwall’s north coast, Kernow Chocolate has been producing great-tasting chocolate since 2005. Chocolate is a must for me when Christmas shopping whether it’s for a hamper, stocking fillers or a little extra wrapped up with the main present – local luxury chocolate like this is even more special.

I hope this has inspired your shopping and you’ve discovered a few new independent brands. If this Cornish gift guide isn’t enough there are my brands in last years gift guide. I am also giving away a few of the products mentioned over on my Instagram so head to @afashionoddity to win some amazing presents to get your Christmas shopping started (or keep them for yourself) Love Charlotte xxx
