Happy holidays, everyone. I hope you are feeling super festive.

I’ve struggled to feel super Christmasy in Cornwall. At uni, I was usually at home for the whole of December but this year stuck in work it hasn’t been quite as fun. As usual, to appreciate things in Cornwall, you need a car, so I have found myself missing Cardiff for the first time. The winter wonderland, Christmas markets and the lights around the castle are lush. I haven’t missed the shops, Christmas shopping has been just as fun in Cornwall and much easier to shop local (read my Cornish gift guide here). I’ve barely thought about what I want or made a Christmas list this year, but it’s my first year with money, and I have loved buying my family proper presents this year.

I bloody love Christmas, but I try to be chill about it. I don’t have the Now that what I call Christmas album on repeat for two months, haven’t watch Elf or lived in my Christmas jumper. When I do go Christmas crazy, I end up putting pressure on and hyping up one day too much that you feel deflated when its all over.

I’m not one for OTT Christmas jumpers or wearing a Santa hat to the office. However, I am one of those people who dress up to sit on the sofa all day Christmas day.
I love outfits that are festive but subtly. I have been living in this red dress. I’m sure if you know me well you know red is out of my comfort zone. I’m never sure if it suits me. But between Christmas building up and campaign for Labour before the General election, I have made much good use of this smock dress I picked up for £4 in a Primark sale. This whole week I’ve been finding ways to make my office wear a little more festive. Velvet trousers with a jumper or my ultimate tinsel trousers (see them in this post). Writing this I do feel a bit like Stacey (Gavin & Stacey) with her awful line about her special Christmas dress.
Are you a sucker for festive clothes, bedding the works or do you hate it?
I’ll see you after Christmas for my 2019 favourites and all the generic New Year New me blog posts.
Love Charlotte
