Hey guys, I briefly touched on the Sweater vest trend in my Autumn winter wish list post (read here). I am no trend forecaster but I really did not predict sweater vests becoming the biggest trend of the season.

Shirt – Marks & Spencer (old) | Vest – Marks & Spencer (not online but is still in some stores) | Jeans – Old H&M | Boots – Old ASOS and Ring – Daisy London
Up till recently when I thought of sweater vests it is either as Chandler Bings most loved piece in his wardrobe or adored at boarding school polo events. However, they have really taken to new heights this year. Seen on nearly every runway last year, notably Louis Vitton and Christian Dior. Styled over a smart white shirt like this for a classic look or over long sleeve dress for an extra layer. I was more surprised than anyone at how versatile they really can be, under a suit, going full grandad (or Chandler Bing) with some cord trousers, tucked into a mini skirt or even more on-trend a tennis skirt – if you get a plain knit the possibilities are endless. Or be brave with a design and the possibilities are still endless.
Sometimes the key trick to pulling off a trend piece you are nervous about is to keep all other elements of the look simple. As I have done here, classic blue skinny jeans, a simple black Chelsea boot and a crisp longs sleeve shirt – all classics that every wardrobe needs both comfortable and stylish its a winner. Teamed of with a hint of gold jewellery. This look is trend-led yet fairly practical shopping in town? SOrted, long autumn walk? SOrted, pub lunch for a roast dinner? and yep you guessed it, sorted.
I may not be wearing the sweater vest as well as the cool girls from fashion Tiktok but I have surprisingly fallen in love with this trend. I am trying to resits the urge to buy a second but the ones in the wish list and this purple star print one from Daisy Street are screaming for me.
Are you loving the sweater vest trend too? Love Charlotte xxx
