Hey guys, it may be September now but to me, that is the last month of summer. Let’s give our statement summer dresses one last outing to the seaside.
I fell in love with this dress all the way back in February while I was rushing around the Zara in Cardiff. I had never seen anything like it – the beautifully embroidered design really captured my heart. However, it was £60 which I don’t mind if its a handmade sustainable brand but I felt like as if that was a lot for Zara quality. I also didn’t envision how I would get much wear out of it. Very few jackets will go well with this and it is such a statement. I also think the heavy black material means it’s not great for a heatwave but realistically it can still only be worn in nice summer weather.
My birthday came around in May and it was still £60 I left it, however, I just kept thinking about it. by July the Zara sale finally came around and I caved and boy am I glad I did. While I am trying to think more sustainably with my shopping habits I think waiting from February to July and still wanting a piece is definitely proof it will get loved. These days it’s very rare for a fast-fashion delivery to feel really luxurious or special when it arrives but this was magical.
It only arrived at the end of July but I have worn it a few times on holiday in Devon and out for dinner. I just feel amazing in it, sometimes a dress this bold I do feel a bit silly or out of the place. I adore dressing up and having fun with my clothes but I also hate feeling overdressed and silly but this is actually so comfortable on with the elasticated body its a win-win.
