Hey guys, hope you are all staying safe.
I am as you know a huge bargain hunter. I was brought up to always hunt in the sales and pretty much never pay full price for anything. There are many obvious pros to this however it can mean you end up with lots of clothes that were nice because the tag says ‘was £79 now £20’ but it’s not really your style and you never end up wearing. So I am a big fan of the window shop, mum would say ‘Oh don’t look over there we can’t afford the non-sale’ but I find its good to look get your eyes on something then when the sale comes around I know I truly want it.
As we all try to think a little bit more sustainably with our wardrobe at the moment it’s important to ask yourself questions such as ‘Do I have other clothes in my wardrobe I could wear this with?’ ‘Do I have something similar in my wardrobe already’ etc. Another thing I do is leave it ‘in my basket’ so to speak, I go away for a few weeks and if I’m still thinking about the piece I know I really want it. (What really happens is I’m away actually get to go in a physical shop we don’t have in Cornwall, fall in love with something then stalk it online). Stalking these pieces online is a bit tricky unless I kept a word doc with a list of URL’s. Instead, I use Shoptagr which I have talked about her before, its a simple widget that you can save something for sale online to and it will track any change in price or if it’s out of stock etc.
I have a long long list of items I have had my eye on for ages (some since February) so I thought I’d share with you all the pieces I am lusting over. None of which I need, none of which my wardrobe is missing or if lockdown is on till Autumn I definitely won’t wear out of the house but just maybe if I get a notification from Shoptager that it’s 50% off I’ll cave.
It’s a very me colour palette, a lot of things have changed about my style over the years but the mix of pinks, purples and blues seem to be consistent. Both of the and Other Stories dress, I adore but I really don’t need. However the shorts, cardi and bikini I may have to justify. Any shorts I did own are at my parent’s house which is not ideal in lockdown and they are all tight short shorts which are not a vibe now. Can you believe I don’t own a single cardigan? for as long as I can remember I’ve hated cardigans however recently I’ve started to feel the need for one in my wardrobe as no matter how hot it is in London it’s still so windy here in Cornwall so I want something cosier than a denim jacket or a shirt over a sundress but not a jumper, I’m still not a fan of cardigans but this one is swaying me.
Let me know your favourite piece from my list,
Love Charlotte xxx
