Tips on being more confident with your style

February 23, 2021

Hey guys, I am fairly confident with my style. However, I hate wearing an all plain outfit but one piece in a print or a bright colour is as far as I go. So I am setting myself a challenge this year to build confidence with clashing prints, colours and textures. I will share my thoughts and tips with you on stepping out of your style comfort zone.

Start off by swapping plain knitwear out for graphic and printed knitwear. It is a simple way to stay in your comfort zone but add more interest to the comfortable look. A lot of women who have mastered print clashing over the years also claim ‘leopard print is a neutral’ (Erica Davis I am looking at you).

Next up I have swapped out my usual blue jeans for these wonderful metallic silver jeans. They are still denim so still what I am used to be with a little something extra.

Jumper – Old H&M | Top – Saturday by Megan Ellaby | Jeans – Topshop | COat – Old NEw LOok | Boots – H&M | Earrings – Lobe Jewellery | Brooch – Stormie Hud

As I have mentioned before accessories are the cheapest way to try trends out and be more creative with your outfit. I wanted another element to the outfit so I layered my Saturday by Megan Ellaby Margot top underneath my knitwear to have a dagger collar poking out, this has also added another colour to the mix. I carried the purple and green theme through with matching earrings from Lobe Jewellery and a perfectly matching hair clip. All finished off (for practicality purposes) with my trusty red teddy coat. With the addition of a Lil handmade GRL PWR pin from Stormie Hud.

The moral of the story is to take your most reliable pieces (jeans, knitwear) and just add in a new texture. A new print or bolder accessories and suddenly your outfit will be a completely different look. Love Charlotte xxx
