Hello, this is who I want to be online

Welcome to the new A Fashion Oddity. It’s about time I made this site slightly more encaging and me. It’s been a long process, and the hardest part is working out who I am online and what I want A Fashion Oddity to be.
What should A Fashion Oddity represent, or who should it serve?

I loved being able to talk about anything and everything here to I want to add my say to whether that be a trend, music or politics, but that gets messy. I’ve always been a big fan of breaking the rules, some say the most significant rule in blogging is ‘you need a niche’, ‘you need to decide on one specific theme’ but why should we? Labels and limiting yourself like that can get tiresome. I want to be able to talk about what’s inspiring me when it’s inspiring me. It’s is still the case; however, I got some direction as to what A Fashion Oddity is going forward.

I want to breakdown the stereotypes of how boring living in Cornwall could be. We aren’t all surfers or living in hiking gear. You can do both; you can explore everything this amazing place has to offer and still dress however you want. It’s not just a family seaside holiday destination. Lots is going on all year. It’s continuously growing for creatives, I’ve always been an advocate for the idea that you shouldn’t need to live in London to have a career and I know Cornwall is the complete extreme of this – cities like Manchester and Bristol are becoming more and more creative and vital cities to watch. I love the idea that fashion blogging shouldn’t be limited to the London style of shooting in front of pristine noting hill streets. When I moved to Cornwall nearly four years ago now, I fell in love with all it has to offer
My style hasn’t changed since moving to Cornwall, but I want to utilise the fantastic scenery on offer here at the same time. I am still as inspired by the 70s and 80s as I was when I named this blog after Space Oddity by David Bowie. I love colour, clashing and accessorising with random pieces like these white cowboy boots – who said you couldn’t wear those to the beach?

I hope you love the new site and branding as much as I do. I think it’s a bit more me and a lot more interactive than before. Plus I hope you are looking forward to this mix of fashion and Cornish lifestyle content, like this Spa review I have planned.
