I’ve never really liked the term resolutions. I despised the whole ‘New Year, New me’ concept we are sold as kids. The new year marketing used to feel very toxic around dieting and going to the gym obsessively. Plus I am pretty awesome as it is we don’t need a new person or to change who we are with resolutions however setting some goals of things I’d like to get done this year? that’s what I’m here for.

2019 was a weird year for me, you can read more here where I reflected on the year here. I essentially achieved a lot in my first adult job but that didn’t leave me much time for anything else. I barely achieved any of last years goals but let’s get over-ambitious and set even more for my self this year.

2. Read 6 books. This sounds a bit ridiculous most people are like ‘I’m going to read 100 books in 2020’ but sadly I only managed to complete 3 books last year so being realistic. I think I should start small. Last year I only read non-fiction so I’m excited to get back into some fiction too.

3. Keep developing A Fashion Oddity. Last year I made some huge steps towards this with the new website and design. I got a lot more confident with more work. This year I want to keep building on that. I’m aiming to post at least once a week, keep merging fashion with Cornwall in terms of my content, collaborate with more local creators and cornish brands.

4. Keep up being a vegetarian. I’ve always cut down on my meat consumption, cooking at home veggie food and hardly ordering meat out but some times I still did. This year I’ve not eaten any meat yet and want to keep that up for as long as possible while trying to be more sustainable.

6. Keep saving, 2019 was the year I finally learnt how to be good with money. I managed to save up a lot and I want to keep this up. Although goal 1 going to plan to buy my first car will counteract this plan.
Those are my main 6 goals for this year. I have some more that are constantly in my head like wanting to travel more, shop more independent, be more creative etc all very genric and never happens.
What’s your main goal for 2020?
