A week in outfits on holiday

July 20, 2021

Hey guys, I thought I’d share all the outfits from our recent city break to Bath and Bristol in one place. I wanted to pack as light as possible. This became a struggle as we couldn’t rely on the British weather with both rain and a heatwave predicted across the 5 days. Yet for the first time in my life I achieved the impossible, I wore every single item I packed at some point in the trip. While this post is slightly cheating as I didn’t photograph every single outfit. As our hotel in Bath was so central that we often went back to the room at around 4pm and changed for dinner so I did re-wear most of these garments, styling them slightly differently each time.

Without further ado let’s have a quick rundown in no particular order of the outfits I put together from a messy suitcase for the week.

Outfit one

The real star of the week is this fabulous Ganni dress, rented via Hurr Collective (PR Rental). This dress was so fabulous and I felt so confident in it, which is just what you need in a city as glamorous as Bath. Here I have styled it for a cloudy day full of sightseeing with a blouse underneath, cropped cardi and trainers ticking all the practicality boxes but still fitting in with the wonderful Georgian architecture.

Outfit two

Potentially slightly cheating here calling this outfit two. But a few days later when the sun was shining I re-wore the glorious Ganni piece for an evening meal. I kept the styling simple letting the dress do the talking. Paired with these cool metallic loafers from Calvin Klien.

Outfit three

When travelling I can’t leave jeans behind completely. Usually, I travel in jeans and a jumper and still fault back to jeans and a nice top for travel days and more casual outings. On a clouded morning visiting the Roman Baths I wore jeans, a cute mesh top and this beautiful purple duster jacket from M&S a few years ago. I don’t wear this enough but it was so handy in Bath to elevate a more casual jeans and T-shirt look. This jacket became a go-to for any quick trips out of the hotel before getting ready for the day. Making my 8 am coffee runs a little more put together.

Outfit four

While we stayed in Bath we had one really sunny morning which called for my new yellow gingham mini skirt, from Neon Rose to take a spin. I paired it with my favourite Margot polo top from Saturday by Megan Ellaby, trainers and my Mango cardi for in the shade. Yellow and lilac is one of my favourite colour combinations, so these two paired together did not disappoint.

Outfit five

Perfect for an evening meal I wore my much loved floral dress from Reclaimed Vintage on ASOS, often mistaken for a Rixo piece. Obviously teamed with the trusted cardi and loafers again (I wore the trainers and duster jacket on the journey up and packed one other pair of shoes and one other jacket, packing light doesn’t have to mean borning outfits though)

Outfit six

After three days in Bath, we got the train to Bristol to meet friends. Bristol welcomed us with open arms and what felt like a heatwave. I wore my second piece rented from Hurr collective, this time a hand-crocheted dress from independent brand Cro-Che. I really was feeling all the cool vintage vibes in this dress, keeping it practical with a white shirt to avoid any possible sunburns. This dress worked so well for shopping in the afternoon just swapping shoes around for evening meals and cocktails.

Outfit seven

For our final day of museums and exploring Bristol, I wore the Margot polo top from Saturday by Megan Ellaby again this time paired with those wonderful yellow checkerboard jeans from Monki. This technically isn’t the final outfit, I swapped the top to a printed mesh crop top for drinks in the evening but there is no photo evidence so you’ll have to trust me here.

So there we have it a few outfits were repeated and pretty much every item was worn multiple times just not always caught on camera. Who knew we really can fill a small duffle pack with random items and not struggle to style new outfits each day. Which was your favourite outfit from the week, let me know in the comments?
