My 19th birthday Celebrations – Lifestyle

Hey guys,

I am so bad at posting at the moment but today I just wanted to share with you what I got up to on my birthday (May 4th) and the Bank Holiday weekend.
My parents came down on the Saturday and we just spent the afternoon in Falmouth, have a look round the vintage shops and we went for dinner at Rick Steins which as usual was amazing.
On the Sunday we drove to the seal sanctuary in Gweek, I had the best morning there was so many different species of Seals as well as penguins and otters.

Then we meet up with my grandparents who also came down to visit for my birthday and we went to The Greenbank hotel (amazing views of the harbour) for afternoon tea. I had the chocoholics afternoon tea which came with  6 mini sandwichs, my personal favourite was the smoked salmon, two scones and the a chocolate gance, chocolate tart and chocolate cake.
On bank holiday Monday we headed into Truro for lunch, we found a seafood restaurant called Hooked which was amazing food, I had this monkish and crab linguine.

We went on a drive to explore the Helford river which was a beautiful place to walk the dog, we went on the coastal walk to find Glendurgan garden which was one of the prettiest beaches.

 

To end the evening we went to the Ferry boat inn, Helford for dinner. It was the best way to end my weekend with my family a glass of wine, sunset with this view and amazing seafood. The restaurant has won lots of awards but I recommend always eating from the specials menu. The main menu is very basic with just standard fish and chips but there was about 6/7 specials when I went which we tried.

I had the beetroot cured salmon with creme fraiche, pickled cucumber and home made rye bread.

Such a beautiful part of Cornwall.

On my birthday I went to Palacio lounge in Falmouth with my two best friends for brunch, we also went to The meat counter with my flat for dinner before having a flat party with the theme of musicians (I went as Gwen Stafani) but regrettably I took hardly any photos on the day. 

I had another great birthday, celebrating for the first time not at home was weird though. I can’t recommend the restaurants mentioned enough and if you are ever in Cornwall you must go to Helford and Glendurgan beaches. Also go to see the adorable seal and try not to get emotional with how cute they are like I did, you can sometimes be lucky enough to spot wild seals along the coastline.
