Out with the old and in with the new!

Hey Guys,

I hope you have had a brilliant holiday season and a great new year.

Around this time last year I wrote this positive post looking back on 2013 it was a great year....2014 not so much. It wasn't bad just some really bad things happened.
January started with my Grandad in hospital. In March I went through my first proper break up, in May I turned 17 yet I still haven't started learning to drive, it was also a stressful month full of exams and hard times as we lost my mums god-daughter in such a horrible way right before my exams. I had a great summer spending days in the park with my friends and trips to Cardiff bay, I had an amazing family holiday which told you all about in three photo heavy posts on here. During the summer I also lost my great auntie. September saw the start of year 13 for me which is the last year of college/school. In October I attended my first blogging event which was great and I  finally got to meet some of my awesome local blogging friends, in November me and Ffion went to our E.L.F store for a morning of pampering for their Christmas advert and shoot which was so much fun. It was also a month full of parties with Halloween at the end of October and three of my close friends turning 18. The year ended with both my Nanna and grandad being very ill (the personal stuff I mentioned at the start of this post) so its been a stressful few months.

So of the highlights of my year in no particular order.

Day trip to the beach with my family.

New favourite place, Salcombe.

Me and Ffion when we did a shoot for E.L.F cosmetics. Here is the advert.

In October We spent the weekend in Falmouth for the University open day.

My beautiful cousins 18th birthday spent with a BBQ on the beach.

In October I attend my first blogger event which was great and I finally got to meet some of my amazing blogger friends.

My Friend had a Great Gatsby themed party at the start of the year and this was our big group photo after getting a coach back.

The big end of exams party.

Eve's Chritsmas party,such a great night.

Now onto 2015: I am fully aware how much of a cliché it is to say you will change and be a new person in the new year but I have made few resolutions/ goals.

1. Drink more water, I am aiming to drink at least 3 glasses a day.

2. Do at least 15 minutes of exercise each day. I thought it may be more successful if I am more specific then 'Exercise'

3. Be more creative and read more!! Since I began hating art at A Level I have stopped doing anything creative outside of school but now as I am starting working on my portfolio for uni (any fashion/ fashion marketing students got any advice please share in the comments or on twitter @afashionoddity) I can get my sketching stuff out again. I also own loads of book like Wreck this Journal, listography and my fashion diary that I love but never fill in so I want to spend some time working on these. This year I totally failed my Goodreads (add me here) reading challenge to read a mere 10 books I'm so annoyed although the 6 books I did get round to reading were amazing.

4 Start learning to drive

5. Say yes more and take more opportunities fed up missing events due to money or travel etc.

6. Get the grades I need in my A Levels and get into uni

7. Get a job or some fashion related experience.

8. Get a professional blog design, hit 600 bloglovin' followers (is 1000 too much of a dream?) and focus more on fashion related posts. After all I started this blog as a fashion blog and Fashion is in the title, I will still do lifestyle posts about holidays, events and food and of course beauty posts.

I am really excited for the year ahead I cant wait to see where this blog takes me, The opportunities and experiences that lie ahead. As I am hoping to move away for university, it's my last year in Caerphilly so I want to spend as much time with my friends as possible. It's also the year I turn 18 which I have been dreaming about all my life. I am not sure about clubbing but I cant wait to drink cocktails in fancy bars, have a big party and hopefully go away (Paris is calling) to celebrate. Next month I am finally after like 6 years I am finally seeing one of my favourite bands, All Time Low ( who will also be releasing a new album this year) so I am probably gonna cry all night and for weeks after as my 12 year old fangirl comes out. There are also some really exciting new release I already cant wait for. Especially in Film: Into the woods, Theory of everything (already out I know), Star wars, Pitch perfect 2, The last five years, Suffragettes, Jurassic World and more I have never been this excited for this many films before.

I hope you have enjoyed this very long, wordy and personal post. I wish you all the best for 2015. Please let me know in the comments what you are looking forward to this year?

Love Charlotte

  1. What great resolutions , I hope 2015 is a better year for both of us. I'm not making any resolutions this year . xox

  2. I realise this makes me sound really old, but I think it is amazing that at 17 you are doing so well with your blog. I lecture in journalism at a local university and I keep telling the students there to set up a blog as it is a real showcase of their work and will help them stand out to future employers. Keep it up and I hope 2015 is a good year for you x

  3. You are doing some much, you should be very proud. I'm ashamed, I didn't do half the things you are doing! Don't panic about driving either, I've only just started learning and I'm 19!

  4. Your resolutions are fantastic, I hope you have a great year! I live very near to you - in Cardiff in fact! It's a small world! I loved reading about your life dreams, and look forward to seeing more from you in the future!
