A summer holiday in Devon pt. 1

July 30, 2014

Hey guys,

So last week I went to south Devon wit my family for a weeks holiday. I am going to split this post into 3 posts otherwise it will be really long and bore all of you.
We stayed in a caravan in Paignton and the sight had a lovely outdoor  pool which I went in about twice a day haha sadly no photography was allowed by the pool.

On the first day we arrived in the late afternoon so after checking in we went to explore the site and went for a quick swim, then we went off to the nearest beach which was Goodrington sands for a walk and there is a pizza buffet restaurant on the seafront so we went there for our tea.

“Sandy toes, salty kisses, sun kissed noses and sweet reminisces x”

How cute are these beach huts???

On Saturday it was my mum and dads wedding anniversary so we went into Brixham which is a little harbour village with loads of cute coffee shops, chippys and quirky shops.

Then we took a drive up to The berry head hotel for afternoon tea as it was my parents wedding anniversary.

We sat out on the beautiful terrace to soak up the sun and the stunning view.

The hotel offers weddings and after you walk down the steps and have the photos on this beach…could you imagineee <3

My Outfit for the day. The beach behind makes this photo okay! Kimono from TU at Sainsbury’s, top TU at Sainsbury’s, trousers from New Look, bag from River Island and sunglasses from Primark

After we went back to the caravan to change and go for another swim. For our evening meal we were driving around Paignton looking for somewhere to eat when I spotted The palm tree café, bar and bistro. It is a small bar and restaurant, as soon as we walked in a fell in love with the place. They ticked all my boxes. The drinks menu was so brilliant ranging from local ciders, milkshakes, iced tea and wines. They offer a coffee shop feel in the day with cream teas and loads of homemade cakes. In the evening the menu is so current and reasonably priced.

My dads steak with flat chips, mushroom and a mozzarella stuffed tomato looks so beautiful right?

I ordered a half portion (child’s size) of the sweet chili king prawn linguine which was so beautiful.
They use all local ingredients and have won so many awards. Oh if being and café, restaurant and bar isn’t enough for The palm tree they are also a small deli selling locally produced ciders, wines, lemonades and a very amazing salad dressing along with jams, chutneys and cheese. So if you are ever in Paignton I really recommend this place.

So that’s it for Friday and Saturday. The next part of my holiday should be up tomorrow. I hope you have enjoyed this post and let me know the comments if you have ever been to this part of Devon.

Love Charlotte
